Fresh Floral Print

12 04 2010

Each year when the sun comes out and flowers begin to bloom, florals come in style! Floral is a fabulously feminine and colourful print, brightening your wardrobe after the darker shades of winter. Lucky for us the flower power is everywhere – every type of clothing and accessory imaginable you can get in a funky floral style!

Floral print dresses are really pretty, wear with leggings now in spring time and with a tan later in the summer! A floral skirt worn with a plain t-shirt or vest top is also a great way to wear the trend. Why not also try a cute floral top with jeans for a more casual style. Or maybe you’re looking to add a little something to a plain outfit? A pretty floral accessory such as a headband or bag will do the trick. Just remember, it’s not a good idea wear more than one floral print piece per outfit, especially with clashing prints, or prepare for a flower overload!

If you’re petite, avoid wearing overly large florals as this can swamp you out, try wearing smaller prints in shapes best for your figure.
If you’re average/tall in height and are slim, it’s easy for you to pull of most floral prints – go for it!
If you’re a curvy, avoid large prints, as these can draw attention to the places you’d like to hide. Go for smaller prints.

Softer Shades This Spring

8 04 2010

After last years massive colour-blocking trend, this springtime I’m looking foward to wearing nude colours and pastel shades. The catwalks are awash with lilac, pink, blue, pale green and yellow.  However the high-street is full of pastel goodies so you can wear the trend without feeling guilty!

Pick a colour to suit you! Avoid wearing pastels with too much black, this is a light and girly look.  Pinks and corals look amazing on those with a lighter complexion, but also work well on those who have darker features. For blonde haired girls avoid wearing yellow, as this will wash you out. Shades of blue and purple also look fabulous with darker skin, and all pastels look great with a tan!

Here are some of my favourites:

Pretty Wrap Dress – Topshop

Queeny Pearl Top – New Look

Lilac Neck Detail Top – Miss Selfridge

Nude Quilted Lock Across Body Bag – ASOS

Heart Pocket Skirt – Topshop
